Feelings
Carpe diem
Feathers
Three goose feathers found in a meadow
not shed naturally
still attached at the base
memory to a violent death by huntsman or fox
memory to an evolution of taking wing
failed just this once
or perhaps a peaceful passing
no longer needed to capture thoughts in ink
the three feathers figure as friends
turning the world upside down
they have adopted me as their pet.
Running
Running means hurry,
except for recreational running.
Recreational running is
hurried relaxation.
Animals run away,
or they run towards.
Some just run to run,
expressing a behavioural need,
as endorphin junks.
In most running motivation is strong,
desperate wanting.
Except for one,
the headless chicken run.
