Description
Temperance is one of the cardinal virtues. It implies moderation, i.e. the avoidance of excess.
Temperance is important for animals, because we are consuming animals in all kinds of ways: as food, as ‘test tubes’ in animal experimentation, as social substitutes or a recreational devices (see also one of the AWSN Reflections called ‘Animals‘). Temperance, i.e. controlling our tendency to ‘consume’ animals, is an important value in the AWSN Value Shop.
